Call for Papers: Special Issue on Taxation of Cryptoassets

 

We are pleased to invite experts in taxation and tax administration to submit papers to a special issue of JOTA on cryptoassets. We are interested in papers that offer insights into the challenges facing tax authorities and practitioners in the fast-changing landscape of cryptoassets and related transactions. We are also interested in papers that explore the emerging patterns or guidelines for their tax treatment and associated issues in tax compliance. Papers and commentaries describing and analysing the experiences of tax administrations in particular jurisdictions or across jurisdictions will be also considered.

Announcement: Professor Richard M. Bird

 
We are saddened by the news of Professor Richard Bird having passed away on June 9, 2021. Professor Bird, an eminent academic, and expert in public finance and taxation, whose advice was sought by governments and international institutions, was among the most enthusiastic supporters of JOTA and has served on our Editorial Board since the journal was established. Call for Papers: FAD/IMF and TARC Conference and JOTA Special Issue

 
The IMF’s Fiscal Affairs Department (FAD, IMF) and the Tax Administration Research Centre (TARC) will be hosting a two-day virtual/hybrid event on ‘Tax Administration and Tax Policy Responses to COVID-19’ on Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd December, 2021. This event will bring together practical experience from policymakers and frontier academic research by scholars. The deadline for submission is July 16, 2021. Following the conference, authors will have the opportunity to publish their work in a special issue of the Journal of Tax Administration, subject to the standard refereeing process of the journal.
