Submitting Your Paper

Please follow the guidelines below when submitting a manuscript to JOTA.

Covering Email

When submitting a manuscript to the Journal of Tax Administration, please include the following information in your covering email:

  • The names and affiliation details of the authors.
  • The name and contact details for the corresponding author.
  • The title of your manuscript.
  • The name of the section of the journal that you would like your paper to be considered for (Articles, Short Notes, Commentaries, or Reviews).
  • A statement confirming that your paper has not already been published elsewhere and would not be classed as redundant (see the “Previously Published and Redundant Work” section in our Submissions Guidelines for further details).
  • A statement confirming that your paper is not under consideration by any other outlet.
  • A statement confirming that your paper is the authors’ own work.
  • Details of any research funding applicable.
  • A statement confirming whether or not there are any competing interests and, if there are, details of these.
  • A statement confirming that you have not used AI when preparing and writing your paper or generating images for inclusion in it.
  • A statement confirming that you gained the appropriate ethics approval for the research on which your paper is based, if applicable.
  • A statement confirming that you will make the raw data from your research available to the journal’s editors and reviewers if required and, should your paper be published by JOTA, to other researchers upon request.
